I suppose its time for an "official" announcement... so this is it... Alcyone has officially cashed in its chips, closed its account, galloped off into the sunset.

Suzanne is striding ahead as ever, working on new projects and conquering the universe in fine style.
I myself am working solo on some new tracks plus doing all the other things I was doing before.

4/8/05 Alcyone live @ Bimbo's - Alice Radio 3 Minute Film Festival - confirmed!

Fun show coming up! Alcyone performs @ the Alice Radio 3 Minute Film Festival on Saturday April 8th at Bimbo's 365 Club in SF.

In keeping with the nature of this event (where everything is short and to the point) Alcyone will be playing a 20 minute set as the live entertainment of the evening.

Alice's 3-Minute Film Festival is a night to celebrate the arts (and give away some cash). There will be a screening of 15 short films in the categories of: Drama/Documentary; Comedy; and Animation; and a musical performance. After the movies and the musical performance, one winner will be chosen from each category and awarded $3000 in cash!
Alice's 3-Minute Film Festival will be on Saturday April 8th at 8pm at Bimbo's 365 Club in San Francisco.

Alcyone signs record deal

Alcyone has just signed an exclusive recording contract with System Recordings.

System Recordings, based in NYC, is one of the US's larger independent electronic dance labels. Their roster of artists includes Adam F, Bad Boy Bill, Christopher Lawrence, DJ Craze, D:FUSE, Dieselboy, Frankie Bones, DJ Rap, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Richard Humpty Vission and Josh Wink.

The Alcyone - "The Stars Are Real" album will be the first release, and will be repackaged with new artwork. Its official release date is set for Aug 23rd and it will be available in stores worldwide as well as on iTunes etc.

The second album is scheduled for release in January 2006.

The previous Alcyone album "Into the light" will subsequently be re-titled "Alex Newman - Into the Light" and will be available on http://www.entactogen.com

(If you have either of these two albums - hang onto them! They are rare - less than 1,000 of each was manufactured - and they will soon become increasingly valuable collectors items!)

Special thanks to all the people who have believed in and supported us over the past two years... we're really looking forward to phase 2 of the Alcyone adventure and we hope you'll join us!
